Summary: The Denver Nuggets decide not to make any major changes after a successful 2019-20 campaign and remain mostly with the status quo here. The biggest decision is to extend Jerami Grant to a three-year deal and let Paul Millsap leave to be signed by the Heat in free agency.
Doing so allowed them some flexibility cap-wise to add some backcourt depth by splitting their Mid-Level Exception between guards Tyler Johnson and E’Twaun Moore. Drafting Patrick Williams fills a need off their bench as well. If they could continue to develop Michael Porter Jr., they suddenly have one of the more promising young cores in the league.
Noah Vonleh returns for a reasonable salary and Torrey Craig has been solid for the Nuggets and stays on here as well. Mason Plumlee has been exactly what Denver has needed from a backup center, so they bring him back too. Aside from letting Paul Millsap leave, the Nuggets keep mostly the same team together as they shift to their younger core.
