Jordan told the team he was only packing one suit after losing Game 5 in the 1993 NBA Finals

Michael Jordan, after losing Game 5 in the 1993 NBA Finals, with the series shifting back to Phoenix told the team that he was only packing one suit for the trip. The Bulls led the series 3-2, but Games 6 and 7 were slated to be in Phoenix.

As was almost always the case during his career, Mike backed up his talk and helped lead the Bulls to a Game 6 victory in the iconic John Paxson shot. The Bulls won the game and clinched their third NBA championship in a row.

Perhaps, most importantly, Michael didn’t need another suit. However, this revelation only goes to show the amount of confidence that Jordan had in himself and his team. Jordan was different and we might never see another personality like him again. It’s something that this documentary continues to showcase.

And with only four episodes left, you can’t help but wonder what insight we’re going to get next. I keep thinking the best is yet to come. I suspect that the next two episodes will focus on his first retirement, and there are plenty of potential angles it can take from that context. I can’t wait until next week.
