NBA: 5 teams Giannis Antetokounmpo absolutely shouldn’t sign with in 2021

Golden State Warriors

Well, hello. The Golden State Warriors are checking in. You shouldn’t be shocked by this. The Warriors will be in hard pursuit of Giannis if he indeed tests free agency. After taking a huge step back in 2019-20 (largely due to injury), the Warriors will be looking to make a return to contender status in the West.

One quick way of doing that, signing a superstar like Giannis. However, Giannis electing to sign with the Warriors to play next to Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson would make them one of the most feared teams in NBA history once again. I’m not sure if basketball fans are ready for that exercise again.

If Giannis is intent on testing free agency in 2021, there’s no question that Golden State will on the shortlist. Though, I’m not sure that would be the best thing for the league. As far as villains are concerned, I’m sure the Warriors would be more than willing to embrace that role again. Especially if it results in another championship or two.
