1. New York Knicks – LaMelo Ball, G, Illawarra

Thanks to winning the 2020 NBA Draft Lottery, the Knicks will have a golden opportunity to take a big step in the rebuilding of their franchise. Even though they could’ve used this luck last year, when they would’ve been awarded Zion Williamson, they’ll certainly take the opportunity to pick first in this year’s draft.

Even though many consider this draft class to be one of the weakest in recent history, there’s still a chance for the Knicks to improve. With the top pick and a glaring need in the backcourt, New York will take LaMelo Ball with the top overall pick in our mock draft.

Drafting Ball could be seen as a bit of a risk with the top pick, considering he’s one of the biggest unknowns in the draft, but he also represents arguably the most potential of all the prospects at the top of this class.

The Knicks need a home run, and taking a big swing is the first step in hopefully doing that. LaMelo Ball would be a great fit in New York.
