One more Rodman story

With the documentary coming to a close, it wouldn’t be right to send us off without one more Dennis Rodman story. And that’s exactly what we got in episode 10. With the Bulls up 2-1 in the 1998 NBA Finals against the Jazz, Rodman is nowhere to be found. He missed practice and then shows up on TV with Hulk Hogan on Monday Night Nitro, a wrestling show.

Rodman was fined and didn’t want to speak to the media. That was probably the best course of action. In the middle of an NBA Finals matchup, the team didn’t want this story to be the main headline heading into a huge Game 4.

In the end, it was just another development in the “Rodman being Rodman” saga. As he says in the documentary, Phil Jackson and the team knew that no matter what Rodman did, when it came to him being on the court the team knew they were going to get his 100 percent when playing.

Rodman would go on to hit two big free throws in Game 4 as the Bulls took a 3-1 series lead over Utah.
