1. The Malice At The Palace

I don’t think anyone would argue that there needs to be a documentary, possibly sooner rather than later, on The Malice At The Palace. For those that aren’t familiar with what this represents, it’s essentially a brawl that took place between the Indiana Pacers and Detroit Pistons during the 2004-05 NBA season.

On November 19, 2004, at the Palace of Auburn Hills, a fight broke out between the Pacers and Pistons, which leaked into the crowd. With what started as a hard foul by Ron Artest on Ben Wallace turned into an all-out brawl between the players of both teams and fans. The game was called with less than a minute left in the game due to the brawl.

After the game, the NBA announced that nine players would be suspended after what had transpired in the game. The nine players were suspended for a total of 146 games, with Artest suspended for the remainder of the 2004-05 season and Stephen Jackson being suspended for 30 games. Legal charges were also filed to a few players.

The Malice At The Palace is one of those NBA moments where you remember where you were when it happened, where you were watching it, or where you were when you heard about what had happened.
