3. Detroit Pistons – Anthony Edwards, G, Georgia

Should the top of the NBA Draft fall in this manner, the Detroit Pistons should run up to turn in their draft card. Picking at No. 3, to have Anthony Edwards fall into a team’s lap, it would be a huge victory. Edwards, by many, is considered to be the safe pick from this draft class. Edwards was a productive scorer in college and has an ideal size to make the jump to the NBA level.

There are real concerns about his shooting efficiency numbers, but the hope is that landing in the right spot will open the door for him to grow as an efficient scorer in the NBA. Edwards has the tools to be a good defender in the NBA and has real star potential.

With the Pistons, Edwards would land in a nice spot. He wouldn’t be asked to carry much of the workload on offense (assuming Blake Griffin will still be on the roster next season) and would be able to develop at his pace.

The Pistons landing Edwards with the third pick would be a huge win.
