30. Boston Celtics (via Milwaukee) – Malachi Flynn, PG, San Diego State
Despite being somewhat of an undersized guard (6-foot-1), Malachi Flynn is considered as a strong two-way player at the point guard position. Flynn could be an option for the Celtics who could be in the market for some insurance in their backcourt.
Flynn is the greatest of athletes and his size is clearly a concern, but there is still plenty to like about Flynn. And if there’s any franchise that can help Flynn overcome those weaknesses, it’s the Celtics. They’ve done it before and they will do it again.
Malachi Flynn is coming off a season in which he averaged 18 points, five rebounds, and five assists on 44 percent shooting from the field and 37 percent from 3-point range. After three seasons at San Diego State, Flynn would be experience and leadership that some of the other one-and-done prospects might not have.
Malachi Flynn might not be a franchise-changer, but he could certainly develop into a real contributor.
