NBA prediction No. 4: The Clippers will not make the Conference Finals

Before the hiatus, many believed the LA Clippers were the best bet to win the NBA Championship. When play resumes, that will likely still be the case. However, I strongly believe that we won’t see chalk results when the season resumes. Perhaps that’s just wishful thinking on my part, but I believe we’re going to see some real upsets.

In the Western Conference, I think that will equate to one of the Los Angeles teams falling short of making the Conference Finals. Because I’ve already predicted the Lakers to find themselves in the NBA Finals, by default I have the Clippers being upset in the second round. Two potential candidates to do so are the Houston Rockets and Denver Nuggets.

Each of those teams is set up to make deep runs in the West and could give the Clippers issues – the Rockets due to their star-scoring duo and the Nuggets due to their depth and flexibility as a unit.
