NBA variable No. 1: The no homecourt advantage issue

Perhaps you might argue with this opinion, but I believe one of the biggest question marks of the Orlando/Disney bubble will revolve around what homecourt advantage is going to look like when play resumes in the NBA playoffs. What will teams, who already have playoff spots locked up, be playing for in the eight seeding games?

As of right now, there aren’t final plans on what teams will have in the place of a homecourt advantage. And there’s a good chance that it won’t be anything, other than adjusted crowd noise and perhaps a hardwood that resembles their home floor.

With no true homecourt, it could greatly alter the way the playoffs look this season and perhaps the way it turns out. Will star players hold more weight in each series? Will coaching and continuity be valued much more?

We honestly don’t know what this year’s NBA playoffs will look like or how they’ll play out and one of the biggest factors revolves around the absence of a true homecourt advantage.
