NBA Sixth Man of the Year award: Goran Dragic, Miami Heat
Runner-up: Montrezl Harrell, LA Clippers
There are a few sixth men that you couldn’t go wrong with when it comes to handing out the NBA’s Sixth Man of the Year award. In the end, I elected to give my vote (I don’t really have a vote, but that’s neither here nor there) to Goran Dragic. After somewhat of a “down” season a year ago with the Heat, Dragic was instrumental to the team’s success this season.
Averaging 16 points, five assists, and three rebounds per game on 44 percent shooting from the field and 38 percent shooting from deep, Dragic was the energy off the bench for the Heat for much of the season. I’m not sure they’d be sitting in the position in which they are without Dragic.
It’ll be interesting to see how Dragic performs in the bubble, but all indications point to perhaps seeing the best of him this season. He’ll be rested and ready to go once the games begin. Montrezl Harrell is another player that you can’t really go wrong with. He’s had a sensational year with the Clippers and will be in line for a huge payday this offseason.
