16. Minnesota Timberwolves (via Brooklyn) – Precious Achiuwa, F, Memphis
The Minnesota Timberwolves, with D’Angelo Russell, Karl-Anthony Towns, and (in this hypothetical) Tyrese Haliburton, the Wolves would be smart to add some defensive flavor to the core. There are questions about Precious Achiuwa’s offensive game. However, he’s arguably the best defensive player on the perimeter.
With as much firepower as this team already has on its roster, Achiuwa could come in and play a vital role for this team right away. He won’t be asked to do much on the offensive end and would be able to play next to both Towns and Russell.
Then again, you question if you take simply a specialist this high in the draft. That said, Achiuwa has the potential to be a potent two-way player. He’s going to time to develop. His defensive prowess is what will open the door for him for minutes right away.
