23. Miami Heat – Tre Jones, G, Duke
The Miami Heat are very much a team that could end up trading their first-round pick in an attempt to keep as much financial flexibility as possible heading into the summer of 2021. With that said, they do have a need at the point guard position, especially if they aren’t able to re-sign Goran Dragic.
If that’s the case, Tre Jones could very much be in play for this team with the 23rd pick in the first round. Jones is not necessarily a player that will jump out when watching him play, but the more you watch him the more he grows on you. He’s a player that makes winning plays.
During his sophomore season at Duke, Jones averaged 16 points, six assists, and four rebounds per game on 42 percent shooting from the field and 36 percent shooting from 3-point range. I don’t think anyone expects him to be that productive at the NBA level, but he could prove to be a valuable depth player.
