Is Brett Brown coaching for his job?

Generally, when a team in any sport underperforms heading into a season in which many expect to be a championship contender, there is always a fall-man. There’s always someone that takes the blame for the unexpected failure, whether it’s fair or not. Should the Sixers lose in the first round of the NBA playoffs, many expect that person to be head coach Brett Brown.

Therefore, there’s a case to be made that Brown is coaching for his job heading into the playoffs. Maybe ownership gives Brown another shot with this team considering the mid-season hiatus and the injury to Ben Simmons, but there’s going to be chatter about a potential change should the Sixers’ season end in disappointment again.

If Brown could somehow, someway find a game plan that could flip this series on a dime and perhaps push the Celtics to a Game 7 or even come out victorious, you have to love the chances of him returning next season.

Short of that, it’s tough to see it. As unfair as that may sound.
