9. Charlotte Hornets – Devin Vassell, F, Florida State

Ideally, one of the top 2 bigs on the board would fall to the Charlotte Hornets but since both are off the board I think there’s a good chance that the team could take a shot on Devin Vassell. Many consider him to be the best “3-and-D” player that has the most potential to grow into a star in the NBA.

If he doesn’t, he’ll at the very least be a player that could defend and shoot the 3 at a high level. That’s something the Hornets could use either way. The Hornets are somewhat at ground zero in their rebuild and while they have a solid young core, they need to find the face of the franchise. I’m not sure they have one on the roster.

That’s why taking a chance on Vassell could be worth it for a team like Charlotte. Of course, there are other potential players that could be in play here, but I believe Vassell has the highest ceiling while also have the highest floor from that group.
