12. San Antonio Spurs – Saddiq Bey, F, Villanova
Ah, another player that is considered a high ceiling 3-and-D prospect. And what better franchise to potentially breakthrough his potential than with the San Antonio Spurs. Saddiq Bey is another player that many consider being the best shooter in this draft class. Bey averaged 16 points and five rebounds on 48 percent shooting from the field and 45 percent shooting from 3-point range.
At 6-foot-8, he’ll be able to play both forward positions at the next level and has all the tools to be a polished defender one day. Learning from Gregg Popovich certainly won’t hurt either. The Spurs are heading into an offseason where they could be on the verge of some big changes.
Selecting 12th in the draft, it’s unlikely that they’ll be able to find their next face of their franchise, but taking a chance on a prospect as talented as Saddiq Bey could pay dividends in the not-so-distant future. He has the potential to be a really good rotation player in the NBA.
