27. New York Knicks (via LAC) – Cassius Winston, G, Michigan State
Assuming that the New York Knicks don’t trade for a point guard, adding one in the draft could be the next best move. Cassius Winston would be an interesting pick. He’s an accomplished collegiate player that averaged 19 points and six assists on 43 percent shooting from 3-point range.
He may never be a star in the NBA, but he could be a contributor off the bench.
28. Los Angeles Lakers – Cassius Stanley, G, Duke
On the surface, at this point in the draft, I love any team selecting Cassius Stanely. He’s a high-potential player that we didn’t exactly see at full-force during his lone season at Duke. He has great size and has shown the ability to be an impressive scorer.
With the Los Angeles Lakers, Stanely could be a great fit. He’ll have to improve his 3-point consistency, however. Especially if he’s going to be able to play off LeBron James and Anthony Davis. Two Cassius’s being taken back-to-back? Likely the first time in NBA Draft history. I’ll take it.
