9. Washington Wizards – Onyeka Okongwu, F, USC

It appears that the Washington Wizards are going to enter the 2020-21 season with both John Wall and Bradley Beal healthy. Assuming that’s the plan, and that they won’t trade either one or both of them, adding a frontcourt player to help Rui Hachimura and Davis Bertans (assuming he’s re-signed) would go a long way in this team taking another step forward.

Adding a player as talented as Onyeka Okongwu at No. 9 would be an absolute steal. Okongwu showed promise on the defensive end this past season at USC and his measurables (6-foot-9 and 7-foot-1 wingspan) suggest that he would fit right in with how the NBA is evolving.

He was a capable offensive player, averaging 16 points per game during his freshman season, but still needs to prove the can be a consistent threat on that end of the floor. Thankfully, with how explosive Washington’s offense can be (on paper) that may not be a huge issue during his rookie season.
