NBA Mock Draft: Warriors trade No. 2 for Myles Turner; Knicks take a versatile big

12. Sacramento Kings – Aaron Nesmith, F, Vanderbilt

With the current whispers that we could be seeing the end of Buddy Hield in a Sacramento Kings uniform, it would make a lot of sense for this team to add some insurance in case they have to move on from the sharp-shooting guard. Aaron Nesmith would be a fit considering he’s one of the better shooters in this class.

During his sophomore season at Vanderbilt, Nesmith 23 points and five rebounds on 52 percent shooting from 3-point range. I’m not sure those are numbers that you would expect to translate 100 percent as he makes the jump to the NBA level, but if he can shoot that percentage from 3 in college, you’d hope he can shoot a respectable 37-40 percent from deep in the NBA.

Assuming he can be that kind of player, there will be a place for him on any NBA roster for years to come. Nesmith isn’t a big name out of this draft class, but he might be the best deep shooter from the bunch.
