Transition is never easy – it’s also the perfect time for a big change

A transition may not be easy, but it’s oftentimes the perfect time for a big change. This is something that the Houston Rockets should embrace, especially if they’re not sure that the current duo of Russell Westbrook and James Harden isn’t good enough of a 1-2 to win an NBA championship.

While the Rockets will likely be interested in another retooling around Harden, even more so if they can trade Westbrook during the offseason, this would be the perfect time for a complete rebuild. With new leadership taking charge in the front office, if Rafael Stone wants to make a splash for himself, it could include a blockbuster trade during his first offseason.

I’m not sure if Stone has any loyalty to James Harden or if there’s already an agreement in place for him not to make any rash moves, but this is a move that could help shape where and how he wants to build this team moving forward.
