12. Jerami Grant, player option
During the playoffs for the Denver Nuggets, there might not have been a more important defender than Jeremi Grant. We saw Grant defend the likes of Kawhi Leonard and LeBron James at crucial moments in the playoffs.
Even though he has his limitations as an offensive player, Grant will be a player that many playoff teams will be pursuing. The big question is whether they will be able to afford him at the price that he should be worth on the open market.
Grant has played his way into a big-money, long-term deal. However, there aren’t many teams this offseason that have much money to spend. If Grant is comfortable with signing a one-year deal, there’s a pathway for him to get that long-term, big-money deal that he’ll likely be seeking during the next offseason.
However, as we have seen time and time again in the NBA, that might be a risk that he’s not willing to take. And you really can’t blame him for that.
