The Toronto Raptors have quickly become one of the better developmental franchises in the NBA. We’ve seen that time and time again in the past and we’re seeing it again with another one of their developmental players hitting the free-agent market for a potentially huge deal.

Fred VanVleet is next in line for a big deal. The question, however, is whether or not it’s going to be the Raptors that end up paying him.

Regardless, Fred has done enough to warrant every penny that he’s going to get. VanVleet has proven that he’s a legit starting point guard and is one of the better defenders on the perimeter too, despite being undersized.

It’ll be interesting to see what the Raptors elect to do with VanVleet, considering they have another big decision to make regarding Kyle Lowry next offseason.
