NBA Mock Draft: Boston Celtics trade into top 10; Deni Avdija jumps to No. 1
7. Detroit Pistons – Killian Hayes, G, Ratiopharm Ulm
One player that has a rise up draft boards in recent weeks is Killian Hayes, a 6-foot-5 point guard out of Ratiopharm Ulm. There is plenty to like about Hayes and his potential. He has great size, has improved as a shooter, and has proved to be a capable playmaker.
He’s still only 29 years old and his best basketball is still very much in front of him. For a team like the Detroit Pistons, adding a guard as talented as he hs is could go a long way in this team making a big jump in the rebuilding process. Even though the Pistons have been linked to LaMelo Ball recently, I simply don’t believe that Ball is going to fall substantially in this draft.
Should LaMelo Ball find his way to the Pistons at No. 7 or if Detroit finds a way to trade up, that would be the pick. However, after Ball, you can make a strong case that the next best point guard on the board would be Killian Hayes.
