NBA Draft winner: Miami Heat

Heading into the 2020 NBA Draft, there was a growing belief that the Miami Heat was not even going to make a selection in the first round and, instead, trade the pick. However, the Heat did make a pick and, boy, was it a great selection.

With the prospects still on the board, it was clear that the Heat couldn’t pass up the pick. With the 20th pick, the Heat selected Precious Achiuwa. Not only does Precious have one of the best names in this draft, but he also is one of the most energetic bigs in the class.

After James Wiseman was ruled ineligible for the Memphis Tigers, it was Achiuwa who stepped in at the center position for the team. Achiuwa was the only freshman in collegiate basketball to averaged a double-double, posting 16 points and 11 rebounds per game.

Achiuwa has Miami Heat DNA and will be a good addition if he can develop quickly. His potential is through the roof and if there’s any franchise that will be able to get the most out of this prospect, it’s the Heat.
