20. Minnesota Timberwolves

I have a feeling that the Minnesota Timberwolves are going to be a trendy pick this season, but I’m going to have to see this team for an extended of period time together before I pick this team to be a playoff contender in the Western Conference.

The Wolves have talent, but this is not different from before. Question is, will this team finally be able to put it all together?

19. New Orleans Pelicans

On paper, there is a lot to like about the New Orleans Pelicans. Zion Williamson could very well be the next big thing in the NBA and they continue to add talent. I didn’t love the Stan Van Gundy coaching hire but he will help with the team’s development and defensive woes.

The Pelicans could be dangerous, but they’re another team that has some proving to do, especially after losing Jrue Holiday, before we pencil them into the top 8 in the West.
