Sacramento Kings

Even though it would surprising for a team without a guarantee of keeping James Harden for more than two years to give up give assets, the Sacramento Kings could emerge as an ideal candidate to do so. It’s kind of the Sacramento way. They constantly do things that run counter-culture. They did so when they traded DeMarcus Cousins a few seasons ago.

Even though this team is far from contention, if they could find a way to pair De’Aaron Fox and James Harden, they could potentially run an interesting lineup on the floor. A Harden-Fox duo might be a top 5 backcourt in the league and would bring a new level of interest to Sacramento. One that hasn’t been evident in the franchise for quite some time.

The hesitation would come surrounding the fact that even with Harden, the Kings would be far from a contender in the Eastern Conference. Still, based on the uptick in intrigue alone, trading for James Harden might be worth the gamble for a team like the Kings.
