Houston Rockets
Much like the Pacers, the Houston Rockets could very well benefit from Giannis signing his supermax extension with the Bucks. James Harden has made it clear that he doesn’t want to be in Houston and would like a change of scenery in an attempt to win an NBA championship. He doesn’t believe he can do that in Houston anymore.
With not much of a trade market existing for Harden at the moment, or perhaps not one that appeasers the Rockets at the moment, Giannis being virtually “off the market” could open the door for better offers from a few “other” teams – such as the Milwaukee Bucks, Miami Heat, and any other team that had hopes in pursuing Giannis next offseason.
If the Rockets are hoping to trade James Harden before the start of the season, there might not be a better time to do that than over the course of the next few days. With Giannis off the market, there could potentially be an influx of interest surrounding Harden.
After all, there’s no predicting when the next NBA MVP talent will become available on the trade or free agency market (assuming Kawhi Leonard remains in Los Angeles).
