Christmas wishlist: The Kevin Durant experience

Heading into the 2020-21 NBA season, there’s nothing more the Brooklyn Nets would want or need is the Kevin Durant experience. Durant signed with the Nets during the last offseason and didn’t play a game for the team last season as he was recovering from a torn Achilles injury that he suffered in the 2019 NBA Finals.

Before his injury, though, there was no debate. Durant was on his way to dethroning LeBron James as the best player in the NBA. While there’s no guarantee that he’ll be able to get back to that form, especially consistently, the Nets have big expectations for their star player.

The Nets are largely expected to be sitting at the top of the Eastern Conference standings by the season’s end and a big reason why is the skill of Kevin Durant (and, partly, Kyrie Irving). If the Nets are going to have a “successful” season, they’re going to need the full Kevin Durant experience.
