Teams that need to make a move at the NBA Trade Deadline: New Orleans Pelicans
The New Orleans Pelicans are another team that has been drastically disappointing so far this season, even in a deep Western Conference. Even with the excellent play of Brandon Ingram and Zion Williamson, the Pelicans can’t seem to get in a rhythm. They’re 12-17 and are three and a half games out of the playoffs.
The Pelicans are in danger of falling into irrelevance in the Western Conference and could be falling back into the same place as they were with Anthony Davis just a few years ago. I’m not sure if there’s a move out there for this team to make that would significantly change the fortunes of their season this year, but they should absolutely be searching for one.
Maybe this team turns it on during the second half of the season, but this team might still be a couple of years away from being a true playoff threat.
