NBA Trade Deadline bold predictions: The San Antonio Spurs trade DeMar DeRozan

Even though the San Antonio Spurs are currently a playoff team, I believe that this front office is too smart to fall into the fallacy of making the playoff just for the sake of making the playoffs. This team is always building for more and I don’t think this team’s current core can lead them much further than a first-round playoff exit.

DeMar DeRozan has had a great year thus far, but it’s probably time for both sides to move on from each other. DeRozan is a free agent after the season and likely won’t be re-signing with San Antonio.

Expect the Spurs to try and get something substantial in exchange for DeRozan at the trade deadline. Whether or not they’ll be successful in doing so remains to be seen, but I’d be surprised if DeRozan was still on the Spurs roster after the trade deadline.
