NBA Draft prospects to watch: James Bouknight, UCONN

James Bouknight is another great UCONN guard that will almost certainly be a top pick in the 2021 NBA Draft. Bouknight is a shifty guard with great athleticism at 6-foot-5. He’s arguably the best scorer in college basketball, averaging 19 points and six rebounds on 45 percent shooting from the field.

If he can help lead UCONN to a Sweet Sixteen, or even beyond, there’s no question that Bouknight will rise up draft boards over the next couple of weeks. In a draft that is expected to be deep in the backcourt, there’s a chance that Bouknight emerges as a steal late in the top 10.

He needs to prove that he can hit the 3-point shot on a consistent basis. Especially in today’s NBA, that will be imperative for his draft stock moving forward. And what better place to prove that than on the NCAA’s biggest stage?
