4. Denver Nuggets

Despite the hiccup against the Boston Celtics on Sunday night, you can make the argument that the Denver Nuggets are the hottest team in the NBA. They’ve won 18 of their last 21 games and have won nine of their last 10 games. Since acquiring Aaron Gordon, this team has been playing at an entirely different level.

Gordon gives this team something it simply hasn’t had in a very long time on both ends of the floor. He’s a viable offensive weapon while also being a versatile defender that the team could ask to guard and the opponent’s best player.

Even though I have the Nuggets penciled into the fourth seed, I don’t think it really matters – the Nuggets are going to be one of the most dangerous teams in the Western Conference. The only real problem here is that they could be facing a first-round matchup against the Los Angeles Lakers. Which is actually one of the only teams that I believe confidently that would beat the Nuggets in a seven-game series. That’s quite unfortunate.
