Exploring why the Boston Celtics can make a deep playoff run in the Eastern Conference.

As far as the Eastern Conference is concerned, you can make the argument that there isn’t a hotter team heading into the final few weeks of the regular season than the Boston Celtics. With less than 20 games remaining in the regular season, the Celtics are starting to play their best basketball.

Boston has won five games in a row and nine of their last 12. With a relatively easy schedule heading into the team’s final 16 games of the season, you can make the argument that the Celtics are beginning to emerge as a team in the Eastern Conference that not many will want to deal with in a seven-game series.

Before we get to why there is reason to believe why the Celtics can make a deep run in the playoffs, there’s one big hurdle that the team will have to avoid heading into the last few weeks of the regular season. That’s avoiding the seventh seed.

The Celtics need to do what they can to avoid the Brooklyn Nets in the first round. In the semifinals or conference finals, that’s fine. But not in the first round. Not to open the playoffs. With that understood, let’s get to why the Boston Celtics can make a deep run in the Eastern Conference playoffs.
