Do the Minnesota Timberwolves need to land the No. 1 overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft?
Much like the Houston Rockets, the Minnesota Timberwolves aren’t exactly a team that needs the No. 1 overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft. In fact, this team is coming off a draft in which they had the No. 1 overall pick. The fact that they’re still in this predicament is not ideal.
Nevertheless, another top-level talent should help this team moving forward. As far as their roster is concerned, the Wolves have the most talented roster of the four teams on this list. They have strong talents in D’Angelo Russell Malik Beasley, and Karl-Anthony Towns, and an intriguing rookie prospect in Anthony Edwards.
They also have a few other talented prospects on their roster that could end up blossoming into real players in a few seasons. This team has talent. It’s actually quite strange how ineffective this team has been over the last few seasons.
If the Wolves can get a leader in the locker room, the right coach to get the most out of his players and make the right moves in the offseason, there’s no question that this team has the talent to be a playoff team in the Western Conference. It’s not about talent for this team, which is why I don’t believe this team desperately needs to land the No. 1 overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft.
