NBA players that have fallen short of expectations: Kelly Oubre Jr., Golden State Warriors

It may be kind of strange to see Kelly Oubre Jr. on this list but the hope was that when he was acquired that he would help take some of the pressure off of Stephen Curry on the offensive end of the floor (after the loss of Klay Thompson to injury). Especially considering that Oubre was coming off a season in which he averaged 19 points and six rebounds on 45 percent shooting from the floor and 35 percent shooting from 3-point range.

However, Oubre hasn’t had that great of a season in Golden State this year. His scoring is down to 15 points per game and he’s shooting just 32 percent from 3-point range. He’s had his moments throughout this season, including a 40-point outburst in February, but his inconsistency has hurt the Warriors this season.

There’s a chance that Oubre’s season is over with the Warriors, but there’s no question he did leave a bit to be desired this season. He will be a free agent heading into the offseason.
