New York Knicks playoff expectations: An RJ Barrett coming-out party
Over the course of this season, Julius Randle has been the breakout star for the Knicks. He made the all-star team in the East this season and is having one of the best individual seasons in Knicks history. However, this team wouldn’t be where it is this season without the play of RJ Barrett.
Barrett often gets overlooked and gets the bad rap of having an “unimpressive” rookie season. Nevertheless, Barrett is having an excellent sophomore season. He’s averaging 18 points, six rebounds, and three assists per game on 44 percent shooting from the field and 40 percent shooting from 3-point range.
Barrett is far from a finished product and absolutely has some improving and progressing to do over the next couple of seasons, but he’s far from a bust and it’s time that he has somewhat of a coming-out party in the playoffs for the league at large to see.
