Miami Heat adjustments: Run offensive sets for Bam Adebayo early

If there’s one thing that has been abundantly clear through the first two games of this series, it’s that the Heat needs to figure out a way how to get Bam Adebayo more comfortable on the offensive end. Especially if the Bucks are going to continue to leave him on an island with Brook Lopez.

No offense to Lopez, with as good as he can be defensively, but he’s not a defender that should be able to shut down Bam on a night-to-night basis. The Bucks are forcing Bam to beat them and he hasn’t come through in the first two games of this series.

Spo needs to figure out a way how to get Bam easy and efficient looks at the basket. And early. One way to do that is to try and introduce some early offensive sets to get Bam an easy layup or a quick look at an in-rhythm jumper inside of 15 feet.

If Bam can get comfortable and confident in the offense early, it should lead to more open looks for the rest of the team. Especially if Milwaukee has to send a second defender in Bam’s direction if Lopez can’t handle him alone.
