14. Golden State Warriors – Josh Giddey, G, Australia
After selecting Jonathan Kuminga earlier in the first round, the Golden State Warriors will select another high ceiling prospect with the final pick in the lottery. Josh Giddey is a player that would make a lot of sense for this team and at this point in the draft.
Even though he’s likely going to be a project and will need a least a few years to develop, I’m not sure where he could do that more effectively than with a team such as Golden State. The Warriors wouldn’t need Giddey to play a big role for the team initially and could develop behind the scenes if needed.
The Warriors would be able to give Giddey the NBA and playoff experience that he’ll need later in his career and if he progresses quicker, he could be a good third or fourth option next to Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson.
