Why the New York Knicks would make this trade
The No. 1 rated Knicks defense get even better defensively with the versatile, former Defensive Player of the Year, Draymond Green who can guard positions 1-5. Switching on the pick-n-roll would be a dream for defensive-minded coach Tom Thibodeau who would no doubt put him in positions to frustrate opposing teams nightly.
The Knicks get to keep RJ Barrett, Immanuel Quickley, Obi Toppin, and Mitchell Robinson as their core and continue to develop them. Or, with the new found draft capital, along with players from the core 4, catch the eyes of Portland Trail Blazers GM Neil Olshey and he finally relents on trading Damian Lillard.
If they do keep those new found picks, at No. 7 player like James Bouknight and Davion Mitchell will be available as both are dynamic scorers in their own right. With the14th picks, lights out shooter Corey Kispert of Gonzaga could be available as well.
With max cap space, the Knicks can still add established vets like, for examples, point guard Kyle Lowry and shooting guard DeMar DeRozan to keep this team competitive going into the 2021-22 season.
