NBA Finals, Game 2 keys: Freeing up Giannis

Looking at the box score, especially coming off injury, Giannis Antetokounmpo didn’t necessarily have a bad Game 1. He finished with 20 points and 17 rebounds and said he felt good after Game 1. However, it still wasn’t enough for the Bucks.

Even though he got to the free-throw line 12 times, I can’t help but think that he needs well more than 11 shot attempts heading into Game 2. During this year’s playoffs, he’s averaging 20 shot attempts. He certainly has to be closer to that number in Game 2.

The Bucks have to figure out how to free up Giannis on the offensive end a bit more and if they do so, they’ll be able to look a bit crisper as a team on that end of the floor and would be able to apply even more pressure on Phoenix’s defense.
