Tim Hardaway Jr. is heading into the offseason with an opportunity to cash in on what has been a great couple of years with the Dallas Mavericks. When it comes to Hardaway and his impending free agency, it ultimately will come down to whether or not the Mavs are willing to pay him what he is going to demand on the open market.

Hardaway may be far from perfect as a player, especially on the defensive end, but he has proven over the last couple of years that he can be a force on the offensive end. The big question for the Mavs is whether or not he’s a force that can be replaced.

The Mavs will likely pursue other big-name free agents but I believe all roads lead back to a Hardaway reunion in Dallas. It might be costly, but Hardaway is a player that I was simply cannot lose without a replacement plan. Considering they won’t have many other options, the best and safe play for the Mavs is to re-sign Hardaway during the offseason.
