Why the Chicago Bulls will make the playoffs: DeMar DeRozan can fill the secondary scoring void

One of the primary reasons why the Bulls stumbled to make the playoffs last season was due to the lack of a true secondary scorer next to LaVine. That was addressed this offseason when DeRozan was acquired.

DeRozan may not be an all-star anymore at this point in his career but he’s still one of the better 1-on-1 offensive players in the game. Many are quick to criticize his lack of a 3-point shot but he’s a great mid-range player and can get into the paint at will.

If DeRozan can embrace this new role, there’s no question that he’ll be a huge asset for the Bulls next season. Playing next to Ball and LaVine should make him even more effective on the offensive end and I’m excited to see him grow in this new role at this stage of his career.
