Potential landing spots for Ben Simmons: San Antonio Spurs

The San Antonio Spurs would be the ideal landing spot for Simmons. He’d be able to play under a great developmental coach, a stable franchise, and would be joining a team with relatively no expectations. And maybe those are all the elements he needs to get his career back on track.

I’m not sure how many more years Gregg Popovich has in him, but he would absolutely be rejuvenated by the addition of Simmons and it would certainly bring a large amount of excitement back into the franchise.

The big concern is whether or both the Spurs have any pieces that would be appealing to the Sixers. And I’m not quite sure they do. To get a deal done, the Spurs would almost certainly have to find a third team that is willing to play ball.

I’m not sure the Spurs would be willing to go that far in their pursuit of Simmons.
