Three concerns for the Philadelphia 76ers’ uneven start to the season.

The Philadelphia 76ers suffered a difficult loss to the New York Knicks on Tuesday night, losing by a final score of 112-99. The score shows a much closer game than it actually was, with the Knicks garnering a 27-point lead in the second half.

Four games into this young season, the 76ers sit at 2-2, losing to both New York teams, while defeating the lowly Thunder and Pelicans. Considering the 76ers are still in the spotlight from all the offseason drama with Ben Simmons, this start is concerning for several reasons.

Coming off of an Eastern Conference Semifinals upset loss at the hand of the Atlanta Hawks, Philadephia hoped to bounce back in the new season. However, many of their old issues remain the same, with or without Ben Simmons as the point guard in the offense.

How good are the Philadelphia 76ers?

The Doc Rivers’ led squad will undoubtedly be a playoff team, but as the East continues to improve year by year, this team is not a lock for a first-round playoff win anymore. Let’s look at some reasons why that’s the case.
