5. New York Knicks

There’s no denying that the New York Knicks had a somewhat embarrassing showing in the first round of the playoffs against the Atlanta Hawks. After that performance, many were quick to throw in the towel on this core.

However, the front office wasn’t fazed at all and decided to build on last season’s step forward. So far, you can’t criticize that decision. The Knicks look better, more comfortable, and are playing like a team that knows they belong.

I’m not sure what the ceiling is for this Knicks team, but they’re off to a great start and the NBA is always a better product when the Knicks are good.
