To say that Evan Mobley has lived up to the lofty pre-draft expectations would be an understatement. He looks like a true franchise-altering talent for the Cleveland Cavaliers and is already making an impact for the team in his rookie season.
Through the first few games of his rookie season, Mobley is averaging 13 points and eight rebounds on 49 percent shooting from the field. What separates Mobley, however, is how special he has the potential to be on the defensive end.
Mobley has shown the ability to be a star on both ends of the floor and has the potential to be the NBA’s next unicorn. If all continues on the current path that it’s on, Mobley will be a household name in the NBA sooner rather than later. Mobley should be the favorite to win the NBA’s Rookie of the Year award through the first few weeks of the season.
