NBA MVP Ladder 1.0: Steph Curry is back to setting the league on fire again
1. Stephen Curry, Golden State Warriors
To start the season, Stephen Curry has been a magician for the Golden State Warriors. He’s averaging 27 points, eight rebounds, and seven assists per game to start the season. Also, the Warriors are off to a blazing 7-1 start.
The expectation was that the Warriors would be a factor in the Western Conference at some point this season, most likely when the team is fully healthy. However, the Warriors are already a factor in the West and could make the jump to true contender when this team has all hands on deck.
Curry is driving this team and is the straw that stirs the drink, but it would be unfair to expect the Warriors to continue to win at this pace if they can’t get healthy fast.
The Warriors are going to be a problem and if they are healthy at the end of the season and if Curry continues to play at this pace, they will have a chance to win the whole thing. I’m not sure that’s something anyone envisioned at the start of the season.
