The Heat was right in not trading Tyler Herro for James Harden
Last season, the Miami Heat were highly criticized by many when they failed to acquire James Harden from the Houston Rockets when he requested a trade from the team. One rumor that had circulated was that the Heat refused to include Tyler Herro in any trade packages. Whether that was true or not remains irrelevant.
Nevertheless, Herro is proving that perhaps Miami – whether the rumor is true or not – was right about being hesitant to trade their young trade piece. At least through the first month of the season, Herro is making a lot of heads in that Miami front office seem highly intelligent.
Through the first 14 games, Herro is averaging 22 points, six rebounds, and four assists per game on 46 percent shooting from the field and 39 percent shooting from 3-point range. A super outlandish statement that is pretty much true so far this season: Herro has been better than Harden through the first month of the season.
I’m not sure if anyone saw this coming during the offseason.
