NBA Trade Rumors: Kyrie Irving trade ideas that would upgrade the Brooklyn Nets.

There are rumors that the Brooklyn Nets feel Kyrie Irving could return to the team soon. With all things involving Kyrie, you can never be sure he will keep his word. Irving once told the Boston Celtics he was planning to re-sign with them, only to sign the second free agency opened with the Nets.

The Nets’ best interest could very well be to move on from Kyrie, not just because of his vaccine stance but because he’s also due for a new contract once this season is over (he has a player option that most star players decline). It just doesn’t seem smart to commit to such a flakey player like Kyrie.

With that line of thinking in mind, here are some possible trades to help the Nets improve their team.

C.J. McCollum for Kyrie Irving

C.J. McCollum is a fine player who puts up over 20 points a night, on respectable shooting splits 42.4%/39.3%/70%. McCollum is not Kyrie Irving. This could be a move to breathe some new life into Portland’s offense and potentially ease the burden off of Damian Lillard.

The Nets, in return, get a player who can play now and will also be under contract through 2024.
