Let’s get straight to the point, Joel Embiid has been injury prone, Simmons is nowhere to be found, and until those two situations get worked out, the Sixers aren’t going anywhere, this season at least. Tobias Harris has been a pretty reliable second option on this team and Seth Curry has been great as well.

But until their big man can stay healthy consistently, the Sixers shouldn’t fool anybody as a legitimate title contender this year. Currently sitting at sixth in the conference, the Sixers picked up a big win against the Warriors but then went on to lose by 35 to the Ja Morant-less Grizzlies.

Can the Sixers be a good regular season team? Sure. However, they will need to do something about the Simmons situation and fast if they don’t want to waste Joel Embiid’s prime.

The Sixers, while they can very possibly finish top three in the Eastern Conference standings are the fourth best team in the conference right now.

Verdict: Fourth-best team in the East
